Accommodation
There are a couple of places in Cordovado:
Locanda La stazione
Albergo Ca' Malvani
Cordovado can be reached by train from San Vito al Tagliamento, Teglio Veneto, Casarsa or Portogruaro (please note: on Sunday the train line is closed). You can pick any of those towns to sleep on Friday, you will have to take the train on Saturday morning. Trains are only very early (8 o'clock) or you will be in Cordovado just on time for the meeting (1pm).
San Vito al Tagl.to:
Ostello Europa (Hostel)
Hotel Patriarca
Hotel Antico borgo Torricella
Teglio Veneto:
Agriturismo Ca' dei Molini
Casarsa:
Hotel Sporting
Hotel Al Posta
B&B al Capriolo
Portogruaro:
Hotel Spessotto
Albergo Alla Botte
Hotel Sport
B&B Via Cavour 6
Albergo la Meridiana
If you have a car you can pick one of the following:
Albergo alla Bionda
Hotel la Perla
The reception will be held at the restaurant 900 all'Isola. The same company (Isola Augusta) offers rooms nearby:
Agriturismo Isola Augusta (name Carlo of the restaurant and our name to get a good price)
A bit further (you may need a car or walk for 30 minutes - note you will be walking in the middle of nowhere!!!):
Casale Il Milione (name Carlo of the restaurant and our name to get a good price)
Agriturismo Alba fiorita (name Carlo of the restaurant and our name to get a good price)
Loggia degli Artisti
Villa Pinella
Albergo al Donatore
Olistella B&B
The closest town to the reception restaurant is Latisana, you have a few choices there, but you will need a car to reach the place. Also, not far away you have plenty of option in Lignano or Bibione (on the sea), but again you will need a car in the night to reach them, or wait the first bus in the morning at 6.30... (we might just be off the party at that time anyway!)

Local travel
Unfortunately, the bride is from the middle of nowhere.
Local public transport runs regularly Monday to Saturday.
There might be some difficulties on Sunday.
A car is always the best bet :)
However, if you can't rent one, there will be some alternatives.
If you decide to go for public transport, it will be possible to reach Cordovado by train for the church ceremony and then be kindly transported by my Italian family and friends to the restaurant (depending on numbers!).
The reception is probably even in the middler of nowhere, however from there by car you can reach Latisana (with trains to Venice and Trieste) and by bus Lignano Sabbiadoro (if you wish to spend a day or more on the beach).

Travel to Cordovado
Click here for a map of the airports and main train stations.
Click here for train timetables - remember to select "All Other Trains" to make sure you see the cheaper (and slower) options! The Frecce (Intercity trains) are fast but sometimes expensive...
---------------------------------------
The closest airports to Cordovado are Venice Treviso, Venice Marco Polo and Trieste. They are all equidistand. From there you can rent a car or travel by bus/train:
Venice Treviso > local bus to Treviso train station (20 mins) > train to Casarsa della Delizia (40 nubs) > train to Cordovado (15 mins)
Venice Marco Polo > local bus to Venice Mestre train station (20 mins) > train to Portogruaro (50 mins) > train to Cordovado (10 mins)
Trieste > local bus to Monfalcone train station (15 mins) > train to Portogruaro (40 mins) > train to Cordovado (10 mins)
It seems there are also direct buses from Venice airports towards sea stations such as Bibione or Lignano which stop also in Portogruaro, however they stop in an industrial area with no public transport, from there you might have to walk a while before reaching the train station.
Also, you can fly to Milan, Verona or Bologna, but the train journey is going to be a bit longer (but the flights are sometimes cheaper!!!)
Milan Bergamo > local bus to Brescia (1h) > Train to Venice Mestre (2h) > Train to Portogruaro (50 mins) or Casarsa (1h) > train to Cordovado (10 mins)
Milan Malpensa > local bus to Milan central train station (1h) > Train to Venice Mestre (3h) > Train to Portogruaro (50 mins) or Casarsa (1h) > train to Cordovado (10 mins)
Verona > local bus to Verona train station (?) > train to Venice Mestre (1h 30 mins) > Train to Portogruaro (50 mins) or Casarsa (1h) > train to Cordovado (10 mins)
Bologna > local bus to Bologna train station (20 mins) > train to Venice Mestre (2h) > Train to Portogruaro (50 mins) or Casarsa (1h) > train to Cordovado (10 mins)
Pisa and Rome are a bit further down.
Long distance trains could reach Venice, Udine or Trieste. There might be direct connections to Casarsa or Portogruaro.
Train options include night trains from Rome, Paris and Munich.
You can also research flights to Salzburg connecting with a train to Udine and then on to Casarsa.
